The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for our area. Precipitation will start as some rain or a rain/snow mix this afternoon before changing to all snow this evening. The bulk of the now, 4-6″, is expected tonight into Friday morning. High winds and extremely cold temperatures are expected with this storm, which may produce blowing snow and drifts. A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow, sleet, and ice are expected. Strong winds are also possible. This will make travel very hazardous or impossible. Temperatures will be at or near records lows. Use caution when outdoors, and provide shelter for pets and animals.
