Brush Collection has been scheduled for 2018. Two collections will take place; one in the Spring and one in late summer. Brush shall include the pruning of trees, shrubs, bushes or vines, but exclude grass clippings, flowers, weeds, tree trunks, stumps, and leaves. If the excluded items are mixed with the brush, the material will not be collected. All brush must be piled neatly at the edge of the property and cannot be placed in any roadway or sidewalk. Brush should not exceed 4-6 feet in length, and should not be any larger than 6 inches in diameter. Brush should be kept a minimum of five (5) feet from utility boxes and other hazards. As a reminder for those residents who utilize a private contractor, the contractor is responsible for the removal of the brush from the property. Each street will be collected once. Township Code states “All brush shall be stored on a resident’s property and shall not be placed at the roadside earlier than 10 days preceding the Monday of the scheduled collection week.” Brush placed at the street for collection outside of these collection dates will not be collected. Medford Township is proud to announce Saturday hours for the Public Works Yard located at 2 Commonwealth Drive. The yard is open every third Saturday each month from 8 am to 1 pm, excluding holidays. In addition, they have added additional dates from April through October, with the exception of August. The yard will be open as follows:
April 7th and 21st
May 5th and 19th
June 2nd and 16th
July 7th and 21st
September 8th and 15th
October 13th and 20th

Protect yourself and your family from identity theft and financial fraud while taking steps to help the Township’s Recycling Program.
The Neighborhood Services Department’s Clean Communities Program will be hosting three (3) FREE Shredding events for residents on:
Saturday, March 17th,
Saturday, May 19th, and
Saturday, September 15th
The shredding truck will be available from 8:00 am until 12:00 noon at the Municipal Garage, located at 2 Commonwealth Drive. (off of Gravelly Hollow Road behind Bob Meyer Park)
Residents may bring up to 10 boxes or bags of files to be shredded on site. An experienced operator will be present in a highly secure, mobile shredding unit where your confidential materials will be shredded as you watch. Please bring paper only; plastic bags, metal, binders and binder clips cannot be shredded. (Paper clips and staples are acceptable)
Please note that no commercial shredding will be allowed.
100% of the paper is recycled and is applied to Medford’s recycling totals, for which we obtain grants from the State of NJ under the Clean Communities Program and Recycling Tonnage Grant.
As these dates are the 3rd Saturday of the month, the Garage is open from 7 am till 12 noon to accept all other waste and recycling materials.

The Township Council is extending an open invitation to residents interested in serving on the Township’s Environmental Affairs Advisory Committee (EAAC). Two vacancies have occurred due to the resignation of current members. More information about Board service can be found on the Boards & Committees Page of the Township website at www.medfordtownship.com. (Link is on the Home Page)
Residents interested in an appointment to the EAAC shall complete the Application for Appointment to Citizen Advisory Boards that can be found on the above website or in the Municipal Building at 17 North Main Street. This completed application, along with a brief cover letter and/or statement of qualifications to serve, must be submitted to the attention of Patricia Rackison, Manager’s Office, 17 North Main Street, Medford, New Jersey or by e-mail to email@example.com. Applications should be received no later than Friday, August 11, 2017.
The EAAC Board meets monthly on the 4th Tuesday starting at 7:00 pm in the Cranberry Hall Senior Center.

As a reminder, Hartford Road will be closed to all but local traffic for repaving beginning on Monday July 17th. The road will be closed between Taunton Road and Old Marlton Pike each day from 7am until 4pm. for approximately 2 weeks. Detours will be in place.
Please expect heavy traffic and delays especially during the morning rush. Plan accordingly and seek alternate route if possible.
The Hartford Road paving project originally scheduled to begin on July 5th has been postponed. The project will now begin on or about Monday, July 17th and will last approximately 2 weeks.
The road will be closed to all but local traffic each day between 7:00 am and 4:00 pm. Previously announced detours will be in place.
Please plan accordingly as there will be increased traffic throughout the area.
Due to the Independence Day holiday, Municipal Offices will be closed on both Monday, July 3rd & Tuesday, July 4th. This includes the DPW Yard/Dump on Commonwealth Drive. (The Yard will be open on both Saturday, July 8th & July 15th in the morning)
Trash collection will take place one day later than usual. The schedule will be modified as follows:
Monday, July 3rd – regular Monday collection
Tuesday, July 4th – Holiday, NO collections
Wednesday, July 5th – Tuesday collection route
Thursday, July 6th – Wednesday collection route
Friday, July 7th – Thursday collection route
Saturday, July 8th – Friday collection route
Recycling collection is not affected–the next collection date is July 11th.

Hartford Road will be closed except to local traffic from 7am to 4pm weekdays for two weeks starting on Wednesday, July 5. The detour route will be Himmelein Road, Route 541/Stokes Road and Old Marlton Pike/Union Street. Please expect delays.
Skeet Road will be closed starting Monday, June 26th for road paving. Detours will be posted an in effect during construction.
Centennial Avenue will be closed on or about Wednesday, June 21st to through traffic between Hopewell Road and Centennial Dam Road. This portion of Centennial Avenue will be closed for bridge repairs by the County. It is scheduled to reopen on or about June 30th. A detour will be posted by the County utilizing Hopewell Road to Breakneck Road to Hinchman Road to Centennial Dam Road; which is approximately 1.5 miles long.
The Hartford Road re-paving is scheduled to start on Wednesday, July 5th. Please expect delays and detours.
Several previously announced neighborhood roads are also scheduled to be paved this summer.

Brush Collection Update, 6/12/17:
The Spring Brush Collection Program for all Zones has been completed. No additional collections are scheduled until the Summer/Fall Collection. Residents who have brush, branches, or limbs to dispose of may bring them to the DPW yard located at 2 Commonwealth Drive any Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm, or every third Saturday from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm; excluding holidays. Additional Saturday hours are posted on the Department website at www.medfordtownship.com/neighborhoodservices .
