The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for our area in effect from 10pm Wednesday to 1am Friday. Snow and sleet are expected during the warning period, with snow accumulation between 4 to 8 inches. The precipitation will begin as mostly snow and mix with sleet during the day on Thursday before changing back to all snow again a tapering off Thursday night.
A Winter Storm Warning means significant snow, sleet, and ice are expected and will make travel hazardous.
As a result of the snowstorm, all Public Works personnel will be assigned to snow removal operations. Therefore, the Public Works Yard will be Closed for bulk trash and recyclables drop-off on Thursday and Saturday.
Residents are requested to move cars and basketball nets off of roadways where possible to allow snow plows to effectively clear the streets.
In addition, Residents and Contractors are reminded that it is a violation of Township Ordinance to deposit snow from private property onto Township streets and roadways.
Primary roads will be plowed first, followed by secondary roads, and then side streets and courts/cul-de-sacs, which may not be addressed until several hours after the snow has stopped falling.
